Outdoor Learning for Schools

With children needing more outdoor play and learning, here at Seven Sisters Sawmills (Sheds) Ltd we understand that you need to make the most of the space you have. All the outdoor learning and play means more toys are required, which means you need extra storage space. We can manufacture our sheds to suit your needs. 

We will always recommend that supervision is required whilst the buildings are in use.

Please note for school buildings such as playhouses we put deck flooring down. Please let us know when ordering if you would prefer this or our 19mm floorboards.

Undercover Picnic Table with access for wheelchairs

These Picnic Tables were amended to allow wheelchair users to join the table with everyone else.


These are built to order. The undercover sections can be optional. Perfect to stay out of the shade during the summer days.




6' x 4' Bike & Scooter store shed low height delivered to Creunant Primary

Like our store sheds for recycling, this one had continuous hinges put on as children would be putting their scooters and bikes in that they have rode to school on. You can see the size of the previous one which didn't last long. Being plastic and the weather in Wales, plastic will become brittle and easy to break into over time. As long as our buildings are kept treated with an Oil Based Wood Preservative, your buildings will last for many years.

Model Church in Wales Primary, Carmarthen - 6' x 6' Shop with the correct heights for children to serve their peers and teachers.

Here's a photo of the building before we installed it over in Model CIW. Door has a continuous hinge, ensuring the safety of fingers. Little baskets were supplied along the front for all sorts of items to be displayed.

Acorn Nursery Bespoke

Bespoke design by the customer, built by the team at seven sisters sawmills sheds ltd. Even the picnic tables.

Installed with some groundwork first. Artificial Grass, our heavy duty Picnic Benches and metal box profile sheets on the roof.

Hexagonal Shelters

3.6 metre hexagon shelter installed in Neath Abbey Primary School in 2023.

Our hexagonal shelters come in a number of sizes and have bench seating, decking floor and tile effect shingles on the roof as standard

Here's some inside seating which we install inside our outdoor learning classrooms. These can be adjusted to suit the years that will be using the building. Just let us know during the order.

16' x 12' Open Classroom

16' x 13' Open classroom, can be used for many things, this one is used for gardening.




This building was installed at Saron Primary school September 2022.


Two entrances from the front. Easy to use as an entry and exit if you prefer.


Clear Box Profile Roof sheets to enable light into the room.


Workbench installed along the back of the build and the right-hand side. Built done to the height for children with shelf underneath for storage.

16' x 12' Apex shed with veranda and windows all around to allow natural light to flow in.
These buildings have plenty of natural light with big windows on the front and down the sides making them ideal for children's use outside the classroom. This building can be made to suit your school yard and the space you have available.

9' x 7' Market Style Chalet

9' x 7' Market Chalet useable to sell items from to raise funds for the school.
With its double opening doors on the front and both external and internal counter this building is ideal for shop role play. Available in a range of sizes

6' x 3' Store Shed

6' x 3' store shed with continuous hinges.
At 5' high these buildings are ideal for storing toys, bikes etc.  Can be made with continuous hinges for extra safety.

Many sizes and various heights are available. Maybe add some shelves as a book store.

Large  Welly Store

Large welly store with one entrance and one exit. seating and shelving to store wellies and coats.
Built to the schools specifications this building was deigned to house the wet weather gear and wellies for the children

20' x 13' with 3 veranda outdoor classroom for a school in Swansea.
Designed to Headmasters requirements to be used as an additional resource area.  Fitted with pvc windows, metal sheets on the roof and guttering

At 4'6" to the eves this building is cozy and suits all ages throughout the school. Comes with decking floor as standard, other sizes are available 

2m x 2m Sandpit

Sandpit done using sleepers and decking for the floor with a covering.

Keeping the sand free from dirt and critters when not in use. The lid is lifted for access.

Fencing & Planters

Fencing and planters to aid in the support so they can be used to split areas in the yards. Various styles available.

We can carry out a number of jobs while installing a timber building. We were approached by a school who had ordered a number of buildings if we were able to build a picket fence but no way of securing. This was solved using planters with a weighted base. the soil on top weighing it down more meant these weren't going to move easy.

Outdoor stage & storage

Delivered in Rhos Primary School with 14' x 8 Shed with a 8' x8' decked area. Overall size is 14' x 16'

A 14'x8' Pent Shed with an 8'x8' covered deck area. Installed with box profile sheets on roof. Perfect to put the spotlight on children of any age for a school play or when giving out rewards during the nice weather.

Playhouses are a very popular choice for schools due to the safety features we have.

They can come with or without a veranda.

6' x 4' Marigold Cottage with one window and door on the front.

Here's one of our smaller ones without a veranda. These can also come with decking floor POA or they can come with our 19mm floorboards.

11' x 6' Cherry Blossom with Storage

11' x 6' Cherry Blossom Playhouse with storage to the side.

We can combine our playhouses which can be used as storage in one area with access from the outside and division inside.
